At Home Retreat - Buddhism and the 12 Steps
Kevin Griffin, Greg Pergament and Walt Opie
September 2 - 7, 2020
The Buddhism and the Twelve Steps retreat has been held at Southern Dharma every year for over a decade. This year it moves online so that everyone can be safe. The retreat schedule has been designed to offer as much of the engagement and power of the in-person retreat as possible. The schedule will be much the same, with the addition of Chi Kung practice. Each day will include multiple sessions of sitting meditation with teachers and Southern Dharma staff. There will be daily meetings with teachers, workshops, meditation instruction, dharma talks, Q&A, and 12 Step-style meetings. Kevin will be joined by Greg Pergament, a skilled Chi Kung and meditation teacher who has been supporting Kevin’s West Coast retreats for many years, as well as Walt Opie. The fact that you will be practicing from home will create certain challenges. This means we will be practicing a kind of hybrid self/group retreat. We will send out some suggestions for navigating these challenges. Our hope and wish is to continue to serve the Buddhist and recovery communities with spiritual sustenance and fellowship.
