“If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.” Buddha

Through the practice of Insight Meditation (vipassana), we begin to see deeply into the miracle of our own human mind and body process, As a result, our whole life begins to change in ways that guide our responses to ourselves and others with increasing insight and love.

The four sublime states (brahma-viharas) are natural expressions of an awakening heart. They are loving-kindness (metta), compassion (karuna), appreciative-joy (mudita) and equanimity (upekkha). These mind and heart liberating teachings, attitudes and practices function as guardians and protectors – while supporting the greater good in each moment.

As antidotes to fear (anxiety), aversion (judgment and ill-will) and clinging (attachment) – they bring increasing balance, ease, trust and fluidity to the way we respond to the “ten thousand joys and ten thousand sorrows” that come and go throughout this precious existence.

The daily schedule will include morning teachings, periods of sitting and walking meditation, an afternoon discussion period and evening dharma talk. Each person will have the opportunity for an individual meeting with DaeJa for support and guidance in the practice.

This retreat is recommended for both new and experienced students.

For our 2021 at home retreats, three fee tiers are offered. Please choose the option that best fits your ability to give in this time. Any amount paid above the Base rate is a tax deductible contribution to Southern Dharma Retreat Center. Your confirmation email is your receipt for tax purposes.

We are deeply grateful for your support.

Registration fees do not include dana for the teacher. In the Buddhist tradition the teachings are offered freely and teachers are not paid for their offerings. They rely on dana contributions from students. Similarly, Southern Dharma keeps registration fees low to ensure the Dharma is accessible to all. Fees cover only a fraction of Southern Dharma’s operating expenses. We appreciate your practice of generosity to continue the dissemination of the Dharma!

A limited number of need-based scholarships are available. Please indicate your interest in a scholarship during the online registration process.
