This retreat welcomes all self-identified women into a container of inner-listening, self-care, online community, and accessing deep refuge during the early summer.

This silent Insight Meditation retreat will consist of Three Teaching/Guided Meditation Sessions per day on Zoom, including short (optional) Qi Gong period, plus teachings and guidance for many other optional opportunities to deepen your practice in your home environment. Please see the preliminary Retreat Schedule linked below for details.

In addition to Insight Meditation practice, Heather will offer teachings on the following areas of practice:

  • Embodiment: Informed by the 1st Foundation of Mindfulness of the Body and Somatic Experiencing (trauma-informed mindfulness practice).  Includes optional guided simple Qi Gong and energy practices.
  • Heart Practices: The spirit of the Divine Abodes of Lovingkindness, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity will support awakened attitudes of mind during our retreat.
  • Deepening into Awareness: Informed by teachings from the Thai Forest Tradition, explorations into the 3 Subtle Characteristics of Experience as Energy; Suchness; and Wholeness (nondual) will be offered.

To support deepening practice, participants will check in with the teacher in a Small Group during the weekend.

This retreat is recommended for both New AND Experienced meditators. Please note that the retreat begins at 5:00pm Eastern Time on Friday and ends at 9:00pm Eastern Time on Sunday.

For our 2021 at home retreats, three fee tiers are offered. Please choose the option that best fits your ability to give in this time. Any amount paid above the Base rate is a tax deductible contribution to Southern Dharma Retreat Center. Your confirmation email is your receipt for tax purposes.

We are deeply grateful for your support.

Registration fees do not include dana for the teacher. In the Buddhist tradition the teachings are offered freely and teachers are not paid for their offerings. They rely on dana contributions from students. Similarly, Southern Dharma keeps registration fees low to ensure the Dharma is accessible to all. Fees cover only a fraction of Southern Dharma’s operating expenses. We appreciate your practice of generosity to continue the dissemination of the Dharma!

Southern Dharma is now offering 50% scholarship awards for BIPOC and young adults in addition to those with financial need. Indicate your interest in a scholarship during the registration process. More information available here.
