Come and experience truth—the truth of our own nature! In Won Buddhism, our true nature is symbolized in the image of a circle: no beginning, no end—true voidness, marvelous existence.

To enrich and cultivate our self-reliant home practices, join our four-day “at home” retreat from November 8-11 (Sunday 4 pm-Wednesday noon). This retreat includes meditation, prayer, chanting, Qigong, dharma discourse, small group conversation, one-on-one interviews, and personal home practice. The retreat will include ample breaks for meals, individual practice, and rest. You will be given opportunities to practice meditation at rest and in motion; you will be guided through sitting, movement, contemplation, journaling, DahnJon Abiding Meditation, and more.

This program is focused on developing equanimity, insight, and mindfulness through the four stages of Timeless Zen Meditation. In the spirit of community, all retreatants should plan to join at 4 PM on Sunday and stay through the final session on Wednesday that concludes at noon.

Won Buddhism is a modern, eclectic form of Buddhism, originating in Korea in 1916. Its founder, Sot’aesan, envisioned a practice that emphasizes equality among all economic groups, races, and genders—and between priests and laity. He believed that great enlightenment is possible without removing oneself from the everyday world; that practicing Gratitude and the Threefold Study (cultivating Equanimity, Inquiry, and Mindful Action) leads to individual awakening and transformation of the world.
