Many of us feel discouraged, bewildered, and frustrated by the chaos and discord we wake up to daily. What can we turn to in the teachings of the Dharma that will bring us back to center, to balance, to clarity?

The Sandokai is the Dharma gift that guides us home—back to our intrinsic wisdom. Written by Chinese Zen master Sekito Kisen in the 8th century, this ancient teaching poem is recited daily in Soto Zen temples throughout the world. The poem is intended to convey the equality of all things and the dependence of all things each on the other. The Sandokai and several variations will be the Dharma teachings of this retreat.
